Look, I’ve built some truly stupid Orbment boards in Trails from Zero. I once gave Lloyd a shiny high-tier Art quartz because the icon looked cool, and then watched him get flattened by a boss while Elie ran out of EP. A Quartz can look powerful and still be dead weight in Crossbell if it does not improve turn order, unlock a key Art, or fit the character’s Orbment lines. In Trails from Zero, Action 3’s SPD +30% often beats a flashy damage boost, while missing Adamant Guard can make a final boss feel impossible. This route keeps the SSS efficient from early sepith purchases to the moment you get over the barrier. And yes, I learned this the hard way, one wasted sepith at a time. 😅
Start with the localized Orbment rules: elemental values unlock Arts, and Master Quartz are not part of Zero’s system. That last part matters, because I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for a Master Quartz menu that simply does not exist in this game. Check the Kiseki Wiki for exact Art-element requirements, locked-slot details, and Quartz compatibility before spending rare sepith. A strong setup creates more turns, cheaper spells, or a reliable answer to a real encounter. A bad setup creates a sad Lloyd and a lot of reloading.
Rank premium Quartz by practical return: Action 3 = SPD +30%, Cast 2 = 50% less cast time, and EP Cut 3 = 30% lower EP cost. For damage, Attack 3 grants STR +10% while lowering DEF by 5%, Mind 3 grants ATS +10% while lowering ADF by 5%, and Evade 3 gives AGL +10. Information remains a permanent utility slot on one carrier, usually Tio early. As of 2026, PC patch v1.5.7 does not change the basic priority that SPD creates more actions. More turns mean more Crafts, more S-Breaks, and fewer “why is my healer dead again?” moments.
Buy for the next encounter rather than hoarding sepith for a perfect endgame board. I know, hoarding feels safe. But sepith does not earn interest, and Crossbell’s bosses are not going to wait while you save for a theoretical dream build.
| Chapter | Priority Picks | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Chapters 1–2 | Attack 1, HP 1, Action 1, Cast 1 | Cheap stats, faster turns, and early Arts. Unlock Aerial and Earth Guard before niche Quartz. |
| Chapters 3–4 | Action 2, EP Cut 2, Evade 2, Strike | Better turn order, cheaper spells, and a dodge plan. Use Dark Matter with Space 5 to pull enemies into Lloyd, Randy, and Raniki Craft range. |
| Final stretch | Action 3, Attack 3, Mind 3, Cast 2, EP Cut 3 | Premium sepith goes to the stats that solve real fights. Treat Adamant Guard as the defensive check for major bosses: its requirement is Earth 4 and Space 2, and its party protection can matter more than another offensive Art. |
Elie can pursue Holy Breath at Water 4/Wind 2, while late Arts such as Avalon Gate require Mirage 12, Space 8, and Time 8. If you are staring at those numbers and wondering whether the game is trolling you, you are not alone. The Orbment slots are picky eaters, and they will absolutely throw a tantrum if you feed them the wrong element.
Lloyd: build the frontliner around Action 3, Evade 3, Attack 3, HP 3, and Shield 3. With gear supporting 50%+ Evasion and the Tiger Heart accessory, incoming misses become counters that generate CP for Tiger Charge. Early Lloyd instead wants Attack 1, HP 1, and Action 1, then Evade 2 and Strike in the middle chapters. He is not a magical nuke, and that is fine. Let the man dodge and punch.
Elie and Tio: give both casters Action 3, Cast 2, Mind 3, and EP Cut 3 when available. Elie is the healer-support route, using Holy Breath, Aura Rain, wind Arts, and eventually Spark Dyne or Avalon Gate. Tio favors high-ATS Mirage and Time damage, including Shadow Blade at Time 5, Last Disaster, or Avalon Gate. Keep Information on Tio early, and give her Ingenuity late if EP recovery while walking solves repeated dungeon casts. Trust me, walking EP recovery is the difference between “one more fight” and “everyone is out of juice again.”
Randy: do not force a caster build through his short Orbment lines. Stack Action 3, Attack 3, HP 3, Mov 3, and Rakshasa, then use Septium Vein or Eagle Eye as efficient utility instead of wasting sepith on unreachable high-tier Arts. His job is physical pressure, Power Smash, and War Cry-driven S-Break output—not competing with Tio’s spell damage. Randy is a wrecking ball, not a wizard. Let him wreck.
Use this limited-sepith order: 1) Action upgrades, 2) Cast and EP Cut for Elie or Tio, 3) Attack for Lloyd or Randy and Mind for casters, then 4) Evasion only when Lloyd’s equipment supports the 50%+ tank plan. Compare the current $39.99 standalone, $69.99 physical bundle, and limited-edition extras before choosing Zero alone or the Crossbell collection. The standalone game suits players focused on Crossbell now; Zero + Azure better fits anyone who wants the sequel’s later Master Quartz evolution.
At the end of the day, a Quartz is not a fashion accessory. It is a tiny, elemental gremlin that either makes your team faster, stronger, or slightly less dead. Build for the fight in front of you, not the imaginary perfect board in your head. Your sepith will thank you, and so will Lloyd’s face when he stops eating dirt. 🎮
